Qualified, registered and trained teachers because your tamariki deserve the best.
Our kaiako are the backbone of our organisation and at the heart of our kindergarten communities. They are supported by Professional Practice Managers, all former ECE teachers, who work with kaiako hands-on to:
- Ensure that both NKA and community values and goalsare being honoured and our philosophies are translating into the daily practiceof kaiako.
- Keep our kaiako connected and supported across communities.
- Facilitate continuous exchange of ideas between all kindergartens in the network.
Our kindergarten teachers are trained to the same level, and hold the same qualifications, as primary school teachers. As fully qualified and trained teachers with current practising certificates, our kaiako have the insight and ability to accommodate, stimulate and holistically support and nurture the cognitive, emotional and physical development of multiple children of varying ages, abilities and backgrounds, whilst still creating an environment in which all children can learn and develop through interaction with one another. Our kaiako are masters at listening to children’s non-verbal communication as well as spoken and supporting them through periods of change and transition.
Theory, purpose and careful planning underpins the mahi of our kaiako who make intentional choices on how they facilitate, structure and lead play-based learning experiences. Within our network, we provide ongoing professional development of all kaiako to keep their training up-to-date and offer the best early education experience for your tamariki. Humility is are occurring trait in our kaiako who acknowledge that tamariki and whānau are gracious (if sometimes unintentional!) teachers, who continually contribute to their own lifelong learning.
