Tikipunga Kindergarten is a purpose built facility with areas for both indoor and outdoor play.
Children enjoy the freedom and space of our large, flat outdoor area, most of which is either grass or soft fall. There is a covered verandah area and numerous shade sails.
We provide opportunities for children to investigate nature through our Swan plants and vegetable gardens. Children enjoy being able to take the produce from the garden home to share with their families.
We are located next to Tikipunga Primary School and the children and teachers love to see the school children through the fence.
We have recently refurbished the inside and outside of the kindergarten. The large open plan area allows children to move from one area to another.
Our walls display and demonstrate the importance of the children and their families/whanau through photos, learning stories, and pictures the children have painted.
We are well resourced and our programme focuses on developing the children’s strengths and abilities. This is documented in each child’s portfolio where the teachers add photo stories about their learning experiences and families/whanau are invited to contribute.
We have four qualified and registered teachers with current First Aid Certificates and a low teacher child ratio of 1:10. We have an office administrator who works 20 hours a week.
