Kerikeri Kindergarten

Kia ora,

At Kerikeri Kindergarten we embrace the Reggio Emilia approach. Teachers have travelled to Melbourne and Italy on study tours and we have developed our own special culture by combining contemporary theories and practices with our New Zealand curriculum Te Whaariki. We are a dynamic and innovative team who continually evaluate and reflect on our practice and the environment (the third teacher), to encourage children to develop their own working theories and to develop higher level thinking.

We believe that "the community is the umbrella for the child" (Rinaldi), so travel out into the community and have many specialists coming into the kindergarten to work with the children.

We have a roll of 40 children, 4 teachers - Head teacher, Cheryl Kingi and teachers Karen Martin, Sheryl Hughes and Jo Johanson (.75) We have a full time support person Kerry Groome.
