Comrie Park Kindergarten
Comrie Park Kindergarten is situated in Matarau, in a rural community just 15 minutes from the centre of the city in Whangarei and is surrounded by beautiful farm land and mature trees.
The Kindergarten has a strong Active Movement focus and is attached to the Matarau Community tennis courts and we have regular access to this great facility. We will develop and maintain a close relationship with local schools and the Matarau community.
Our programme will also be strongly influenced by nature, natural resources, enviro-friendly practices and sustainability.
Children at Comrie Park Kindergarten have the opportunity to:

- Take responsibility for their own learning by being encouraged to think outside the square
- Create and form beautiful friendships
- Gain confidence and empowerment and feel a sense of belonging within the Kindergarten and Matarau community.
Our programme will recognise individual strengths and interests of children and teachers will work with and alongside children to extend these. We value children’s independence, self- regulation and self- help skills and we provide a range of learning opportunities to achieve these through a child-centred, resource-based programme where children, play, discover and learn.
Parents and Whānau are encouraged and welcomed to stay and enjoy time with their child/ren and participate in all areas of the Kindergarten. As a teaching team we strongly believe the importance of adults and children working alongside each other.
This Kindergarten is a home away from home! Please feel free to drop in and meet the teachers.
